Job Description
Our client is seeking a Plant/Business Unit Controller to oversee the financial operations of our manufacturing facility or business unit in Mesquite. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial planning, analysis, reporting, and cost control to ensure the efficient operation of the plant or business unit. This position is fully on-site.
Duties
• Develop and maintain financial budgets, forecasts, and reports for the plant/business unit.
• Perform variance analysis and investigate discrepancies to provide insights and recommendations for cost optimization.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with operational teams to identify areas for improvement in cost efficiencies and profitability.
• Provide financial guidance to support decision-making processes within the plant/business unit.
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key performance metrics and trends.
• Assist in the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors as necessary.
Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing accounting or cost accounting roles.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced knowledge of Excel for financial analysis.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, costs, and inventory management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
• Experience in leading and developing a team of financial professionals.
