Job Summary: The Controller will be responsible for managing all financial activities, including financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance, within our automobile parts manufacturing division. This leadership role requires a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and practices specific to the manufacturing sector, as well as the ability to analyze financial data to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
Develop and manage the annual budget and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations based on financial performance.
Conduct cost analysis and inventory management to optimize production efficiency and profitability.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax filings and audits.
Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Collaborate with executive management to develop and execute financial strategies that align with business objectives.
Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Provide financial analysis and reporting to support operational decision-making and strategic planning.
Lead the preparation for annual audits and coordinate with external auditors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
5+ years of experience in a financial leadership role, preferably within the manufacturing sector, with a focus on automobile parts.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial reporting practices.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., ERP systems) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Strong leadership skills and experience managing a finance team.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
Familiarity with automotive industry standards and regulations.
Proven track record of driving process improvements and efficiencies.
