We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Permanent Controller to oversee our financial operations within the manufacturing sector of our technology company. This role is responsible for managing the accounting team, helping audit and ledger preparation, implementing and checking financial controls, and ensuring company-wide compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, management, and understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
2. Manage operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.
3. Manage the preparation of the company's budget and financial forecasts. Implement financial plans as approved by the board of directors.
4. Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
5. Ensure that all of the company's financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation.
6. Analyze the financial climate and market trends to assist senior executives in creating strategic plans for the future.
7. Interpret complex financial information and provide updates and information as needed.
8. Monitor, manage, and perform intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
9. Prepare official reports on a monthly and annual basis.
10. Ensure the company's financial systems are robust, compliant, and support current activities and future growth.
Qualifications:
1. CPA certification is mandatory.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field. A master's degree is preferred.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, with a proven record of success in financial reporting and management.
4. Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and financial reporting software.
5. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
8. Excellent interpersonal skills and an approachable demeanor.
9. Deep understanding of business principles and practices.
10. Superior attention to detail.
11. Organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines.
12. An understanding of data privacy standards and experience in risk management.
13. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
14. Proven experience with intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
