We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our team in the Engineering industry. This position plays a pivotal role in managing and improving our company's financial performance and direct accounting operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to handle complex financial analysis, financial reporting, budgeting, and modeling. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong financial and accounting background who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Maintain internal control safeguards and coordinate all audit activities.
3. Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with department managers. Continuously collaborate with them to assess the financial efficacy of program operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations.
4. Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.
5. Leverage strengths of the current finance team members, help to clarify roles and responsibilities, and develop and implement training programs to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals.
6. Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment.
7. Participate in corporate policy development as a member of the senior management team.
8. Engage the finance committee of the board of directors to develop short, medium-, and long-term financial plans and projections.
9. Represent the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, investors, auditors, public officials, etc.
10. Remain up to date on audit best practices and state and federal law regarding company operations.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA, CMA, or other finance-related certifications are highly desirable.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, preferably in the Engineering industry.
3. Proven experience in financial analysis, accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and financial modeling.
4. Strong leadership skills with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
5. Understanding of advanced principles of financial management.
6. Ability to analyze figures, knowledge of latest industry trends, and regulatory changes.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional analytical skills in Excel.
8. Excellent interpersonal and team management skills, including the ability to lead, manage, and motivate.
9. Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management, board of directors, and staff.
10. Comfort dealing with ambiguity and the ability to work independently.
