SUMMARY
The Director of Accounting will support the day-to-day needs of the finance department, including both internal and external clients.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops and implements organizational accounting policies, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
Document accounting narratives consistent with audit requirements.
Directs the maintenance of the organization's general ledger and oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close and financial reporting.
Planning, organizing and coordinating the year-end close process with internal and external auditors.
Coordinates with management and other financial functions to develop organizational budgets and financial forecasts.
Has extensive experience with the concepts and principles of one or more related fields or departments.
Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination.
Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management.
Interact with clients, both internal and external, to resolve outstanding AR.
Review and/or prepare account analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries.
Assist with external audit, tax return support, and other 3rd party compliance requests.
Complete special projects or other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate will have 7 or more years of experience in the audit or financial reporting space within the PBM or healthcare industry. The following qualifications are required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Audit experience strongly preferred.
Healthcare experience preferred.
Oracle NetSuite experience preferred.
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Excel working with Pivot Tables and Vlookup.
7+ years of progressively responsible experience in an accounting role.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to respect, protect, and maintain highly confidential information.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Initial requirements will be in the office 4-5 days per week. Over time, the position may have the ability to be in the office 2-3 days per week with some flexibility available
