We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our team in the manufacturing industry. This individual will play a pivotal role in the financial management of our company, including all accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting functions. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be instrumental in driving the financial success of our organization. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for those who have a passion for numbers, a keen eye for detail, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all financial and accounting operations including billing, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
2. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
3. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
4. Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
5. Create, implement, and maintain comprehensive job cost systems.
6. Prepare and present financial reports and risk analysis to the management team.
7. Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors.
8. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that financial information is secure and stored in compliance with current legislation.
9. Drive the budgeting process and implement long-term business plans.
10. Evaluate and manage the company’s investment activities and provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a senior financial managerial position, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
3. Solid understanding of financial management and cost accounting principles.
4. Proven experience in financial reporting, taxation, auditing, corporate finance, and all other broad-based financial operations.
5. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
6. Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
7. Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, and databases.
8. High attention to detail and accuracy in financial forecasting and business planning.
9. Superior leadership skills with the ability to manage and guide team members.
10. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to clearly convey financial information to non-financial colleagues.
