This is a pivotal role that oversees the financial management and reporting of all grant funds. Job Details:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled individual to join our team as the Controller, CPA within our Healthcare Organization. This is a pivotal role that oversees the financial management and reporting of all grant funds. As a Permanent Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) regulations. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a strong background in accounting and finance, who is looking to contribute to our mission of providing quality healthcare services.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the financial management and reporting of all grant funds, ensuring compliance with GAAP and GASB regulations.
- Manage the preparation and submission of all financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Coordinate with internal departments to forecast and monitor grant expenditures, ensuring funds are utilized appropriately.
- Manage the cash flow related to grant funds, ensuring sufficient funds are available for program activities.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial management of grant funds.
- Provide guidance and support to the finance team in relation to grant accounting and reporting.
- Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and legislation that may impact the financial management of grant funds.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management to aid in decision making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting or financial management role, preferably within the healthcare industry.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP, GASB regulations, and grant accounting.
- Strong financial analysis skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide recommendations.
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial staff.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
