Salary: $110,000 - 130,000/year
This position allows for 2 days per week remote / work from home.
We are seeking a Corporate Controller to oversee the accounting and administration functions for the company. Must have experience in Federal Government prime contracting, DCAA/ DCMA regulations and requirements. The Controller will provide guidance and leadership to the team.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Lead Point of Contact for all communications/negotiations with DCAA and DCMA.
- Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and other government contracting regulatory requirements.
- Prepare/review financial statements, cash flow projections, expense, and budget reports.
- Assist in preparing business and personal income tax returns.
- Develop cost and pricing proposals, strategies, and cost pools.
- Direct month-end and year-end closing, prepare accruals, reconciliations, and conduct variance analysis.
- Monitor internal controls and financial transactions to ensure compliance with audit requirements.
- Conduct accounting policy and procedure reviews for independent and governmental requirement updates.
- Manage daily accounting operations, Key Performance Indicators, and deadlines.
- Oversee accounting department serving as point-of-contact for employees and executive team.
- Compare profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; make or oversee any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
- Work with the President and other executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities.
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business with 3-5 years government contractor controller/ accounting experience. Master’s degree preferred.
- CPA certification.
- 3-5 years of experience developing Government cost and pricing proposals.
- Ability to build, develop, manage, and mentor a high performing team.
- Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint.
- Expert knowledge of Service Contract Act, GAAP, and FAR regulations and requirements.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize work within a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently with minimal direction.
