Our organization is on the hunt for a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to lead our financial department. This role is pivotal in providing financial leadership and coordinating accounting procedures in our company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. This position requires a candidate who is not only equipped with a strong accounting background, but also possesses strong leadership skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and reports.
2. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
3. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
4. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
5. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
6. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
7. Support month-end and year-end close process.
8. Manage all aspects of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
9. Oversee Purchase Orders and Scheduling.
10. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
11. Advise on financial analyses and decision-making regarding capital investments, pricing, contract negotiations, significant costs, benchmarks, and other matters with management and CEO.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 2+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
2. Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance.
3. CPA or CMA preferred.
4. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
5. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
6. Experience with creating financial statements.
7. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
8. Must have experience in financial reporting, month-end reconciliations, developing procedures, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchase orders, and scheduling.
9. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
10. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
11. Be able to demonstrate attention to details and good-record-keeping.
12. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, especially Excel).
