About the Job
Our client is a Global aerospace manufacturing organization that is PE backed and growing through acquisition. This role will support a $36M plant in Torrance, CA. This role will manage site P&L, support all cost accounting, cost analysis, inventory valuation and be instrumental in the budgeting and re-forecast processes.

- Maintain standard material, labor and overhead costs
- Prepare journal entries and reconcile inventories to balance sheet
- Review and adjust inventory reserves in accordance with accounting policies
- Analyze gross margin, other cost of sales, inventory trends and turnover ratios, and production yield data
- Prepare audit schedules and footnote disclosures
- Support business unit and manufacturing groups with cost, mfg., and inventory analysis
- Assist in complying with documentation and internal control requirements
- Work with Manufacturing to plan and conduct physical inventories
- Reconcile physical inventories to ERP system for applicable locations
- Validate GAAP and non-GAAP P&L results by performing detailed analysis of cost of sales and opex related functional areas
- Support Product/Customer margin analysis by reviewing, correcting, and reconciling transactions that drive detailed corporate and business unit P&L reporting.
- Reconciliation involves detailed analysis of business activity by P&L account, profit center and profitability segment (e.g. customer/product)
- Support the analysis of variance incurred during production and purchasing activities by comparing the basis for standard cost (info records, overhead rates from costing sheets)
- Ensure timely completion of month-end process for settlement of production orders
- Perform allocations monthly and ensure the results correctly reflect allocation logic agreed by business units
- Manage the periodic process for collection and processing of cost center plan data
- Ensure the timely update to Activity Type rates (direct labor and engineering labor rates)
- Support the process of updating standard costs
Education & Experience:
- B.S. degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Economics, or related field
- 10+ years professional cost accounting experience (experience in aerospace manufacturing a plus)
- Experience in financial reporting, fixed assets, budgeting, and oversight of AP and Senior Cost Accountant.
- Experience with Epicor software a plus in addition to strong Excel
