This role will be pivotal in leading the financial operations of our company, including budgeting, forecasting, financial accounting, and management accounting. You will also be tasked with preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and overseeing payroll management. Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our finance team. This role will be pivotal in leading the financial operations of our company, including budgeting, forecasting, financial accounting, and management accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial analysis, managing the general ledger, implementing internal controls, and overseeing cash flow management. You will also be tasked with preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and overseeing payroll management. The role also entails corporate finance, cost accounting, and developing business strategies. A key component of this role will be financial auditing to ensure compliance and accuracy within the company's financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, and development of internal control policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Manage and oversee the entire accounting team.
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA) is highly desirable.
- SAP ERP system experience is REQUIRED
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a senior finance or accounting role.
- Proven experience in financial analysis and forecasting.
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance and measures of performance.
- Proficiency in accounting software and experience with a software system implementation.
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to direct and supervise.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Experience with creating financial statements.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
