We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This role is a key leadership position within our organization and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our financial management, including corporate accounting, cost accounting, financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our company's financial operations, ensuring compliance with the law and accuracy in accounting. This position requires 5+ years of experience in a similar role.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This role is a key leadership position within our organization and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our financial management, including corporate accounting, cost accounting, financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our company's financial operations, ensuring compliance with the law and accuracy in accounting. This position requires 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
- Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with CEO, COO and the leadership team.
- Supervise the investment of funds and manage associated risks, supervise cash management activities, execute capital-raising strategies to support a firm's expansion.
- Oversee the continuous improvement of Accounting and Financial processes and the development of the team with the goal to achieve best practices and optimal output.
- Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures.
- Communicate financial metrics to senior management providing valuable business insights and recommendations.
- Prepare and present monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss by division, forecast vs. budget by division and weekly cash flow by division.
- Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, SOX compliance and financial procedures.
- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data for federal funders, investors and company’s board of directors.
- Oversee the preparation and communication of weekly and monthly financial statements.
- Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns.
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline. MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
- Strong leadership skills with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
- Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional negotiation skills and experience with managing relationships with investors and banks.
- Experience in a senior financial-management role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies.
