Summary/Objective:

The controller will be responsible for working cross functionally with multiple warehouse leaders to provide them with financial insights. A key member of the warehouse leadership team(s), this position is the focal point for financial planning and analysis, inventory assessment and profit and loss statement control. This position assumes the responsibility of the integrity of financial reporting and internal controls. Provides guidance on operational and sales opportunities. Although a leadership role, this position is a hands-on role as well as having leadership and oversight responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
2. Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
3. Partners with VP, Sales Team and General Managers to maximize business value.
4. Support high-level plant needs for product margins, metrics, actual to budget.
5. Reviews and prepares financial statements for specific Business Units.
6. Prepares budgets with team by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
7. Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
8. Provides support for mergers and acquisitions by reviewing financial information and providing support in the due diligence stage and post transaction.
9. Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
10. Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.

Working Conditions:

• Primarily working indoors, office environment.
• May sit for several hours at a time.
• Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
• Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.

Qualifications:

1. 5+ years of experience within accounting and finance
2. B.S. in Accounting or Finance

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time salary position. Hybrid work schedule - must be local to the area and be onsite 3 days a week. 

Travel:

Local travel primarily during the day is expected for this role and will be less than 10%.

Preferred Education and Experience:

1. Advanced degree or professional certification
2. Warehouse / Distribution experience
3. Manufacturing Plant experience
4. Inventory and Margin analysis experience
