Are you an experienced finance professional with a knack for numbers and a passion for the restaurant and hospitality industry? Our company is seeking a seasoned, dynamic Permanent Controller to join our finance team. This role requires a strategic, forward-thinking individual who can manage the financial health of our organization and ensure we meet our financial goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, and development of internal control policies and procedures. This role requires a deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), month end close processes, ERP systems, and accounting software.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
2. Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with CEO, CFO and other executive management team.
3. Study, analyze and report on trends, opportunities for expansion and projection of future company growth.
4. Develop and implement finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures.
5. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports.
6. Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports.
7. Manage the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
8. Implement and maintain ERP system and other accounting software.
9. Develop and manage internal controls, ensuring the highest level of integrity and accuracy in financial reporting.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or MBA preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
3. Experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry is strongly preferred.
4. In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices.
5. Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations.
6. Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
7. Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software, particularly ERP systems.
8. Ability to strategize and solve problems.
9. Strong leadership and organizational skills.
10. Excellent communication and people skills.
11. An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.
12. CPA is a strong advantage.
