Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Controller, your primary duties will encompass a wide range of financial tasks.
1. Oversee and manage all general ledger activity, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, including the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
2. Ensure all financial reporting is compliant with GAAP standards.
3. Develop and implement financial strategies for the company, including risk management.
4. Prepare, analyze, and present financial reports (income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements).
5. Maintain and enhance financial systems and internal controls, including reviewing current systems, proposing improvements, and managing system upgrades or implementations.
6. Coordinate with external auditors and manage internal controls necessary for the audit process.
7. Participate in strategic planning, fraud prevention, and budget development.
8. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
9. Provide leadership, direction, and management to the finance and accounting team.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Mortgage Industry.
3. At least 5 years of experience in managing and overseeing the finance department.
4. Proficient in GAAP financials, financial reporting, and data analysis.
5. Strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
6. Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and guide a team.
7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
8. Strong analytical, strategic planning, and organizational skills.
9. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
10. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
