We are seeking a strong and motivated Controller to join our team!
Role and Responsibilities:
As the primary steward of our financial infrastructure, you will be tasked with implementing and managing the essential systems required for the smooth operation of our accounting, budgeting, transaction monitoring, data analytics, and financial reporting activities. Key duties include:
- Establishing and maintaining robust accounting systems aligned with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to ensure accurate monitoring, reporting, analysis, and control of financial activities.
- Setting up systems for effective management of grant project finances, ensuring compliance with relevant local, State, and Federal regulations (e.g., 2 CFR 200.302).
- Introducing analytical tools for comprehensive financial planning and analysis, encompassing cost accounting, revenue projections, profitability forecasting, and project profitability assessment.
- Overseeing a 120-day rolling cash forecast and advising the leadership team on potential shortfalls.
- Managing all debt financing activities, including identifying and executing new financing instruments to meet asset or operational requirements.
- Compiling content for monthly leadership meetings and preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for submission to the CEO.
- Generating monthly gross margin reports for production activities and fulfilling tax reporting obligations, including producing quarterly and annual tax returns in collaboration with tax accountant.
- Coordinating with tax accountant to leverage R&D tax credits, Enterprise Zone tax credits, and other applicable tax credits.
- Drafting, reviewing, and ensuring compliance with the Company’s financial and accounting policies.
- Overseeing the Company’s annual financial audit and fostering a work environment aligned with vision, mission, and values.
- Supporting the personal and professional development of company employees by providing training on accounting and finance processes and strategies.

Job Details
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of financial management and general accounting experience.
- CPA designation preferred (current preferred, inactive acceptable).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Experience working with early-stage companies and/or manufacturing sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to develop written accounting policies and procedures.
- Experience managing an annual financial audit.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft products.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace.
