Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controller to join our dynamic finance team. The Controller will play a crucial role in managing the company's financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions. This position requires a deep understanding of SaaS financial operations, a proactive approach to financial management, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management and Reporting:
Oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and providing actionable insights to management.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly/quarterly forecasting activities.
Collaborate with departmental heads to ensure accurate and timely budget planning and variance analysis.
Develop financial models to support business decision-making and scenario planning.
Revenue Recognition and Billing:
Ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards.
Manage the billing process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with customer contracts.
Oversee the subscription management system to ensure accurate and timely invoicing and revenue tracking.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements and filings.
Oversee internal controls and financial policies to mitigate risks and ensure the integrity of financial data.
Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Provide guidance on complex accounting issues and support the team in achieving their goals.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial management.
Strategic Financial Planning:
Work closely with the executive team to develop and execute the company's financial strategy.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth and strategic initiatives.
Participate in strategic projects and provide financial input for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 3-5 years in a senior financial management role.
Strong understanding of SaaS business models and related financial metrics (e.g., ARR, MRR, churn rate).
In-depth knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, ASC 606, and other relevant accounting principles.
Proficiency in financial software and tools, including ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
