Responsibilities:
- Oversee all company accounting practices, including preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
- Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with President, COO and CFO.
- Study long-range economic trends and project their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
- Direct the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, reports to shareholders, tax returns, and reports for government regulatory agencies.
- Oversee accounting departments, budget preparation, and audit functions. Meet regularly with department heads to keep informed and to offer direction.
- Review reports to analyze projections of sales and profit against actual figures, budgeted expenses against final totals, and suggest methods of improving the planning process as appropriate.
- Confer with the President, COO, and CFO to coordinate and prioritize planning.
- Report key results to corporate officers.
- Engage with corporate officers in broad planning and development.
- Stay updated with TPT laws and ensure the company's financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with banking, insurance, and non-organizational accounting personnel to facilitate financial activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred)
- Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, or CPA)
- 5+ years of experience in a senior finance role in the construction or engineering industry
- Strong understanding of TPT laws and other related financial regulations
- Proven proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management.
- Top-notch analytical skills - you must have an eye for detail!
- The ability to make important decisions under pressure
- A talent for leading and inspiring teams
- Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting.
- Skill in examining, developing, reengineering, and recommending financial policies and procedures.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Experience in a construction business with activity-based project costing.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work without direct supervision, and efficiently manage tasks and time.
