Controller
Our Client specializes in placing reinforcing steel, post tension cable, S-I-P metal decking, bridge shear studs, and erecting concrete/steel bridge girders throughout the Eastern, Southeastern, and South-Central United States. This company has a strong reputation for quality and reliability, andthey are seeking a talented and experienced Controller to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the company's financial accounting, monitoring and reporting processes, including financial statement preparation, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Implement and maintain financial controls, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management, including variance analysis and trend analysis
- Work with other departments to develop and implement strategies for cost reduction and revenue enhancement
- Manage and lead the accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Collaborate with external auditors, tax accountants, and other financial professionals as needed
- Stay up-to-date with accounting and financial reporting regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance and optimal performance
- Any other tasks that may be assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred
- 5+ years of experience in a senior financial management role, ideally within a steel construction or related industry (preferred)
- Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles and practices, including US GAAP and IFRS
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team of accounting professionals
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex financial issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with financial reporting and analysis software
