Our company is seeking a dynamic Controller to join our high-performing finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the financial health of our company, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving financial strategy. The Permanent Controller will report directly to the CFO and will be responsible for the company's financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, and various special analyses. This role is critical to our team and requires a candidate with a strong background in finance, analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.
3. Regularly produce financial reports and statements, and present findings and recommendations to the CFO and executive leadership team.
4. Coordinate, analyze, and report the financial performance to Management and Board of Directors (financial performance, projections and other special projects as required).
5. Oversee the preparation and communication of weekly, monthly and annual financial statements.
6. Manage the budgeting process, including the development of financial and operational strategies, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.
7. Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
8. Drive the company’s financial planning and budgeting processes to ensure the company’s financial commitments are met.
9. Participate in corporate policy development as a member of the senior management team.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or professional accreditation such as certified public accountant (CPA) or certified management accountant (CMA) is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position with a proven record of success.
3. Solid experience in analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
4. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
6. Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
7. Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation skills, with the ability to present financial information and complex strategic issues in a clear, concise manner to a variety of audiences.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
9. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and financial software programs.
