As Controller, you will be at the heart of the company’s financial operations, taking ownership of key accounting functions, including general ledger, accruals, and depreciation schedules. You will also play an instrumental role in the implementation of a new computer system, ensuring that the transition is seamless and enhances business operations. This is an in-person position in the WNY area.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger management, accruals, and depreciation schedules.
- Lead the month-end close process and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.
- Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insights and drive strategic decisions that foster business growth.
- Spearhead the implementation of a new computer system to improve efficiency and streamline processes.
- Work closely with CPA firms to ensure compliance with tax laws and other financial regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial information, including payroll and compensation details.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior accounting staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field (CPA or MBA is a plus).
- Strong accounting experience with expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Proficient Microsoft Excel.
- Self-driven and able to thrive in an environment that values autonomy and initiative.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality in financial matters.
