About the Job
CBIZ is assisting our General Contracting client in their search for a Controller/Bookkeeper in Central Jersey to join their dedicated team. This is a permanent position, and the successful candidate will serve as the company’s financial representative, responsible for accurately reporting our financial position.
Responsibilities
- Understand and apply accounting principles.
- Collaborate with a CPA firm to prepare semi-annual financial reports.
- Handle billing and accounts receivable functions.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Manage certified payroll and manning reports.
- Oversee union reporting requirements.
- Supervise third-party payroll processes.
- Manage 401K reporting.
- Oversee accounts payable.
- Reconcile subcontractor requisitions on a monthly basis.
- Conduct day-to-day accounting activities.
- Maintain excellent organizational skills, communication, and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Sage 300 (Timberline) accounting software is preferred.
- Utilize Excel, Word, and Outlook effectively.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Degree in accounting preferred.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and computer skills.
- Salary is commensurate with experience.
- Must be able to multitask effectively.
- Willingness to learn and assist where needed.
