We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and experienced Permanent Controller to join our dynamic finance team. This role will serve as a key contributor to our financial operations, ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of our accounting processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Controller, your duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Overseeing all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
3. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
4. Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.
5. Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting.
6. Researching technical accounting issues for compliance.
7. Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
8. Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
9. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
10. Managing month-end and year-end close process.
11. Liaising with our auditors to ensure the annual audit is carried out efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with a keen eye for detail. The following qualifications are required:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration. A Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or professional accreditation such as certified public accountant (CPA) or certified management accountant (CMA) is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
3. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
4. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
5. Experience with creating financial statements.
6. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
7. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
8. Solid understanding and experience with GAAP.
9. Hands-on experience with ERP systems.
10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
11. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
12. Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
