We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our dynamic manufacturing company. This role is critical to our organization as you will be responsible for the overall management of our company's financial activities. You will work closely with senior management to develop financial strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage our budgeting and forecasting processes. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our company's financial health and strategic direction.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
2. Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with President, COO and CFO concerning strategic planning.
3. Ensure the company's financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth.
4. Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.
5. Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and proper control procedures.
6. Lead and coordinate the preparation of the financial statements, financial reports, special analyses and information reports.
7. Develop and implement finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures.
8. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements.
9. Oversee the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure, and department budgets, salary updates, ledger, and account maintenance and data entry.
10. Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns.
11. Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards.
12. Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is required.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably in the Manufacturing industry.
4. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
5. Experience with financial and accounting reporting systems.
6. Proficiency in planning, forecasting and budgeting.
7. Experience in strategic planning and execution.
8. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
9. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
10. Strong knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
11. Working knowledge of mergers and acquisitions.
12. Proficient in using various accounting software and systems.
