Controller Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years’ relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/Controller role.
• Sage experience = a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Superior organizational, planning, and time management skills.
• Experience in the mortgage or real estate sectors = major plus.

Controller Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all accounting operational functions, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Establish and implement department policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management.
• Prepare internal and external financial statements and oversee audits.
• Manage multiple balance sheets, cash flow, and perform regular financial analysis.
• Oversee the daily processing of deposits, wires, and payables, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Evaluate and enhance internal control systems and accounting practices.
• Develop and monitor performance metrics to drive business success.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, including tax planning and reporting.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies to maintain financial integrity.
• Hire, train, and retain skilled accounting personnel.
