NOW CFO is searching for a Corporate Controller to join our clients team! The Corporate Controller will work closely with the CFO and business office team to execute the accounting function across all dealerships. You are a well-organized individual who is passionate about the financial process. You work well in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and want to learn more about all aspects of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements), ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements.
- Ensure financial statements are completed monthly according to dealership guidelines and the manufacturer's format and time frame.
- Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Manage and optimize payroll processes for dealership staff.
- Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns.
- Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc., when necessary.
- Assist the CFO in developing and managing financial policies and procedures.
- Participate in the development of the organization’s plans and programs as a strategic partner.
- Oversee and manage all accounting system upgrades and implementations.
- Evaluate and improve accounting processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure that record-keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Automotive retail industry experience required
- CPA or CMA certification is required.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a management role.
