Now recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing start-up (private equity-backed) company in Atlanta for a Controller. The company is presently in the $20-40M revenue range, but positioned for extremely high-growth in the near future. The Controller will work along-side the CFO and lead the continual development of the accounting team and processes and refine systems to scale up for future growth. The company offers a compelling compensation/benefits package (including generous PTO and 401k match). (This role works a hybrid mix of remote and in the office.)
The Controller will be responsible for all aspects of accounting management - financial reporting, GAAP compliance, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, intercompany transactions, variance analysis, internal controls and compliance. Additionally this role will be involved in treasury functions and serve as the point person for managing external audit and tax relationships. The Controller will also play a key role in continuing to refine the use of their newly implemented ERP system to maximize efficiency. This role will lead a team of 7-10 accounting staff.
The right candidate for this Controller opportunity will have:
- Bachelor's in Accounting
- CPA required
- 7-8+ years of relevant and progressive experience
- Experience working in a Private Equity-backed, high-growth company is considered helpful
- Prior experience leading in a Controller capacity is required
- Strong systems acumen and experience leading and mentoring staff is required.
- Experience in audit/public accounting is helpful.
- Experience working in a recurring revenue model business preferred.
- Desire to work in fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Strong understanding of GAAP compliance
- History of job stability and career progression.

- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
