About the Job
As a Controller at Amendola Industries, you will be responsible for the overall financial management of the company. This includes managing all accounting functions, financial reporting, bank reconciliations, Sage (MAS 100) administration, insurance matters, truck and capital equipment leasing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Additionally, you will lead a small bookkeeping team and ensure the company's financial health and operational efficiencies.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
• Oversee all accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, inventory accounting, payroll and revenue recognition.
• Manage the monthly closing procedures and preparation of the company’s monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Work closely with outside accounting firm.
• Conduct regular financial reviews and analysis to monitor performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Ensure timely and accurate bank reconciliations.
• Ensure Inventory accuracy by utilizing cycle counting systems.
• Ensure and process monthly multi state sales tax filings.
• Ensure stability of gross margins across multiple product lines.
• Manage insurance matters including property, liability, and workers' compensation policies.
• Oversee truck and capital equipment leasing agreements and ensure cost-effective management.
• Develop and manage the annual budget and financial forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Implement and maintain financial systems and controls to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Lead and mentor a team of 3-4 bookkeepers, providing guidance, training.
• Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.
• Liaison with corporate PEO, financial institutions and all IT vendors (software and hardware).
You are someone who has:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 5 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, preferably in the distribution and or manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in Sage (MAS 100) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
The compensation range for this position is $100,000 -$120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
