This position plays a pivotal role in our finance department, providing strategic financial oversight and direction. Our ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting and finance, with a strong understanding of financial regulations and standards. The role involves leading financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.

As a Permanent Controller, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Coordinating the preparation of the company's budget and financial forecasts, reporting variances, and developing corrective actions.
3. Conducting insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues.
4. Supervising accounting staff and managing day-to-day operations of the accounting department.
5. Maintaining internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, program budgets, and actual expenditures.
6. Collaborating with the executive management team to develop financial strategies and make prudent decisions about company's financial future.
7. Presenting financial reports to board members, stakeholders, executives, and clients in formal meetings.
8. Staying up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is preferred.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the finance industry.
3. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Proficient in financial analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting.
5. Exceptional knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP).
6. Strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
7. Demonstrated leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
8. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
9. Proficiency with accounting software and experience with a software system implementation.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
