Pay Range: $95,000 - $100,000/year
Schedule: Monday - Friday, normal business hours

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead and manage the organization's accounting operations. This position oversees essential functions such as Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), contracts, and financial reporting. The Controller is responsible for preparing accurate financial reports, maintaining accounting records, and establishing robust internal controls and budgets.

This critical role involves coordinating financial audits, maintaining financial software systems, and providing strategic financial guidance across the organization as part of the Corporate Office team.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

• Manage all accounting activities, including A/P, A/R, billing, and fixed asset management.
• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of monthly close processes.
• Develop and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and best practices.

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor the finance team, providing coaching and professional development opportunities.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare and present internal and external financial reports in compliance with regulations.
• Analyze financial data to support strategic decision-making.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist in budgeting processes and monitor budget performance.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Audit & Compliance

• Coordinate financial audits and oversee tax return preparations.
• Oversee grant and contract accounting, supporting grant applications and compliance.

Cash & Software Management

• Manage cash flow and bank transactions.
• Serve as the organization's internal lead for financial software and reporting systems.

Additional Responsibilities

• Handle ad hoc projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field (required).

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years as an Accounting Manager or Controller.
• Proficiency in financial reporting, GAAP compliance, and budget management.
• Hands-on experience with A/P, A/R, Sage 100, and financial report generation.

Skills:

• Strong strategic thinking, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive under pressure.

Preferred:

• Experience in non-profit accounting and familiarity with grants or government contracts.
