About the Job
- Manage the financial operations of the company, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Monitor financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with department heads to establish financial goals and objectives.
- Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to optimize the company's financial position.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Prepare financial reports
- Stay up-to-date with accounting and tax regulations and ensure compliance.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Oversee payroll and 401K reimbursements
- Work with CPA on tax filings and year-end Journal Entries.
- Work closely with Project Managers to identify areas of profit opportunity and risk while staying on track of budgets
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar role, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and reporting standards.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong background in financial management, including budget preparation and cash flow management.
- Experience with Deltek preferred; preferably in consulting background such as engineering, environmental, or architectural firms.
