This position is located in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Operations Division, Procurement Office. The incumbent performs actions associated with developing and awarding the full range of contracts, including multi-million dollar contracts for goods and services; and supports Office program initiatives.
Responsibilities
The following are the duties of this position at the CN-53, broadly equivalent to the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
- Plan complex solicitations for all types of supplies and services, including IT resources, using negotiated procurements, sealed bidding, and simplified acquisition procedures. Interpret and implements the Federal Acquisition Regulation and applicable agency directives.
- Support the Bureau's requirement for continuous procurement improvement, by exercising critical thinking skills and bringing improvement ideas. Support on procurement issues such as streamlining the contracting process, metrication, and outreach efforts to minorities, women, and individuals with disabilities, or other special procurement programs.
- Serve as negotiator during contract negotiations; coordinate with technical, program, and legal personnel. Awards contracts and performs detailed contract administration functions.
- Serve as the Contracting Officer for one or more contracts, some major, with limited or unlimited signature authority.
