Job DescriptionThe Contracts Specialist role plays a role in helping the Contracts department manage all aspects of contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and mitigating risks with contractors and sub-contractors assigned to them by the manager or director. The successful Specialist must effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
Contract Management:
• Assist in the preparation, review and execution of contracting documents to assist the contracts manager with oversight of the contract lifecycle, from inception to closeout,
ensuring compliance with government regulations, and company policies.
• Research and assist with review, draft, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including but
not limited to vendor agreements, subcontracts, and client contracts assigned to them by
either the director or manager.
Risk Mitigation:
• Help identify and assess potential risks associated with contracts and propose mitigation
strategies from a tactical task-oriented process with and through the department director
and or manager.
• Collaborate with legal counsel to address legal issues and ensure contract terms are in
compliance with applicable laws and regulations as directed by director and or manager.
Negotiation and Communication:
• Work with department director and manager to actively lead contract negotiations with
clients, vendors, and subcontractors to achieve favorable terms and conditions.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders, including sales, project management, and
finance teams, to facilitate effective communication and understanding of contractual
obligations.
Contract Compliance:
• Help monitor and enforce compliance with contract terms and conditions.
• Assist with assignments delegated from the development and implementation of contract
management best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Assist with maintain accurate and organized contract records, including approvals,
correspondence, and changes.
• Generate regular reports on contract status, highlighting key milestones and potential
issues as requested by department director and or manager.
Other Duties: Other duties assigned within reason of current role previously specified.
- At least 3 years with proven experience in contracts research and support in a technology or government contracting environment - awards and modifications. 5 years preferred.
- Strong understanding of legal and regulatory requirements related to contracts.
- Preferred certifications FAC-C, DAWIA in contracting
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills and work collaboratively with others.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
- Proficient in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Security Clearances: This position may require a security clearance. The clearance requirements are determined by the agency(s) in which you are assigned. Convergint Federal will sponsor the level of clearance required. However, it will be your responsibility to obtain and maintain your required level of clearance. Secret or Top Secret clearance a plus.
