About the Job
As Oglethorpe Power continues to scale our operations, our Supply Chain team is also scaling our Contracts team to include another Contract Agent, based on experience, education, and transferable skills, we are open to considering candidates Contract Agent I-Contract Agent IV.
Contract Agent I
- Responsible for the issuance, award, administration, and closeout out of General Service Agreements and their associated task release contracts and any non-GSA contracts for Plant Operations and Corporate services contracts.
- Responsible for tracking insurance certificates for all existing and new contractors.
- Responsible for obtaining service vendor qualifications and monitoring vendor performance.
- Assist in resolving any claims that may arise concerning vendor invoicing, performance, or other issues.
- Promote sound contracting principles.
- Promote fair, ethical, and reasonable supply chain business principles.
- Review Contract Terms.
- Manage amendments of existing documents when language is modified.
- Become a Maximo expert for Contracts Module.
Job Duties:
- Review requests for master agreements and scopes of work for completeness.
- Implement database info changes, support qualification of contractors, and establish/maintain effective communications with internal and external customers.
- Review commercial requirements, terms and conditions, cost/risk avoidance and pricing of contractors.
- Perform contract administration, including modifications, performance evaluation, cost/schedule compliance, cost avoidance, and contract completion or termination.
- Maintain knowledge of and comply with corporate policies and procedures.
- Perform contract close out to include release of liens, warranty documentation, and acceptance records, and other reconciliations.
- Support management reporting (when necessary)
- Maintain Safe work environment and attend safety training (as required)
Required Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's degree in business or technology related field preferred
Experience: Two (2) years contracts and/or purchasing experience in utility, generation, transmission, distribution, services, or related industry.
Equivalent Experience: Four (4) years contracts and/or purchasing experience in utility, generation, transmission, distribution, services, or related industry; or two (2) years college plus two (2) years contracting experience in the industry.
Specialized Skills: Interpreting contracts, negotiating, conflict resolution, good communication (written and oral), computer literate.
Licenses, Registrations, and/or Certifications: 1. Certified Purchasing Manager Certification (CPM) or Certified Professional Supply Chain Manager Certification (CPSM) preferred. 2. Valid driver's license that meets the insurance eligibility requirements under Oglethorpe Power's Driver Qualification Program.
Travel: 20%
Contract Agent II

- Perform contract close out to include release of liens, warranty documentation, acceptance records, and other reconciliations.
- Train plant operations personnel in procurement & planning functions (as needed)
- Support management reporting (when necessary).

Required Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's degree in business or technology related field preferred.

Equivalent Experience: Eight years (8) contracts and/or purchasing experience in utility, generation, transmission, distribution, services, or related industry; or two (2) years college plus six (6) years contracting experience in the industry.
Specialized Skills: Interpreting contracts, negotiating, conflict resolution, good communication (written and oral), computer literate.
Licenses, Registrations, and/or Certifications: 1. Contract Agent IV
- Responsible for the issuance, negotiation, award, administration, and closeout out of General Service Agreements and their associated task release contracts and any non-GSA contracts for Plant Operations and Corporate services contracts.

- Responsible for obtaining environmental, safety, technical & financial qualifications, analyzing specific service vendor qualifications and monitoring vendor performance.
- Assist in resolving any claims that may arise concerning vendor invoicing, performance, or other issues.
- Promote sound contracting principles.
- Manage Request for Proposal and formal bid events for Plant Operations using department bidding tool.
- Promote fair, ethical, and reasonable supply chain business principles.
- Project an air of confidence when dealing with vendors and internal customers.
- Review Contract Terms, recommend changes as needed to comply with changing legislation, regulatory requirements and any other business needs and maintain contract language library electronically.
- Manage amendments of existing documents when language is modified.
- Be a Maximo expert for Contracts Module as well as Lawson Strategic Sourcing & Lawson PO20 & PO25 modules.

Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in business or technology related field required
Experience: Eight (8) years contracts and/or purchasing experience in utility, generation, transmission, distribution, services, or related industry.
Equivalent Experience: Sixteen (16) years contracts and/or purchasing experience in utility, generation, transmission, distribution, services, or related industry; or two (2) years college plus fourteen (14) years contracting experience in the industry.
Specialized Skills: Interpreting contracts, negotiating, conflict resolution, good communication (written and oral), computer literate.
Licenses, Registrations, and/or Certifications: 1. Certified Purchasing Manager Certification (CPM) or Certified Professional Supply Chain Manager Certification (CPSM) preferred. 2.
