About the Job
Position: Continuous Improvement Lean Engineer
Responsibilities
Planning, performing and following-up of lean projects and workshops in operations through-out selected region of responsibility
Leading regional Continuous Improvement (CI) initiative and projects with multi-disciplinary teams
Providing in-house consulting services and facilitating trainings in the area of lean
Directing and cooperating through direct communication with Managers and local Plant Management
Development and implementation of lean and trainings
Development, implementation, and exercise of internal lean audits
Identification of lessons learned and best practices and sharing them throughout the Company
The duties and tasks are handled local however; this is a Corporate level position.
Qualifications
Work Experience
Minimum 3 years with a track record of success in leading the implementation of lean principles within an automotive manufacturing environment – must be able to give detailed examples
Expert level professional who has consulted with manufacturing plants throughout their careers.
Operations or Materials experience in the Automotive Industry and particularly in our commodity is a strong advantage (+5 years of Management / Supervisory experience preferred)
Skills (language, technical, computer etc.)
Lean mindset – standards, organization, and optimizing
Facilitating workshops and meetings
Strong presence – confidence in speaking to audiences
Ability to communicate and connect with all levels of the organization (i.e. shop floor)
Independent, well-structured and results driven working style
Excellent English language skills
Knowledge in project management as well as presentation techniques, moderation and training will be an advantage.
Spanish language skills beneficial – but not necessary
Willingness to travel on a regular basis (approx. 40%). This travel is utilizing car transportation.
Education
Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering preferred; will also consider other BS in Engineering or related field of Industrial Management (time & motion studies/analysis topics)
