Our ideal candidate
The Consumer Loan Servicing Specialist II supports a centralized loan servicing department with a variety of tasks to enhance member experience and adhere to Credit Union and regulatory standards. The role services all consumer loan types and provides support to internal and external members with consumer lending functions through various processes. The Consumer Loan Servicing Specialist II promotes safe lending practices through lien filings, insurance verification & total loss claims, and loan protection product maintenance.
A typical day might include the following
- Completes loan maintenance on various consumer loan types, including but not limited to rate changes, term extensions, and payment modifications.
- Supports internal phone queue for associates with questions regarding loan maintenance and post funding questions. Clarifies procedures and guidelines. Provides guidance with common consumer loan scenarios.
- Supports external phone queue for members calling for assistance with their consumer loans. Establishes a positive rapport and provides exceptional service that aligns with Credit Union values.
- Supports an active help desk with loan servicing requests from Credit Union associates.
- Maintains a centralized title work processing environment by validating documents, verifying fees, and submitting to MVD for filing. Tracks title releases and follows up on delays with Credit Union associates, members, dealers and third-party financial institutions.
- Processes out of state title and registration transfer requests for relocated members.
- Completes loan payoffs and title/lien releases on collateralized loans.
- Receives and verifies insurance submissions and assists in collateral protection insurance (CPI) premium billings and refunds.
- Assists members with total loss claims and insurance letters of guarantee.
- Files GAP, VSA and debt cancellation claims and cancellations.
- Supports the Collections department with loan modifications and insurance claims.
- Reviews department reports for completion of loan maintenance processes.
- Assists with other projects that may occur with consumer loans, including new lending products, marketing promotions, and procedural changes.

Education
- High School Diploma Required
- Associate's Degree Or completion of specialized consumer lending courses preferred.
Experience
- 3 to 5 years of similar or related experience loan servicing experience with loan insurance product claims, consumer auto loan title processing and consumer loan maintenance preferred.
- 1 to 3 years of similar or related experience in banking or customer service required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to focus with strong attention to detail. (Medium proficiency)
