The German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern U.S., Inc. (GACC South) is a private, non-profit organization which serves as the official representative of German industry and trade in the Southern United States. Our main mission is to promote and support bilateral trade between Germany and the U.S. We are seeking a highly motivated, full-time intern to gain hands-on experience using her/his business education in real-world applications. As an intern, you will participate in teamwork, direct client communications and day-to-day operations.

Job description:
This is a compensated internship, you will work closely with current staff and managers of the Consulting Department to support ongoing projects of individual clients or e.g. federally funded projects aimed at supporting German small and medium sized companies in various key industries entering the US Market. Moreover, supporting clients with their US business development is a key element of the Consulting Team.
Responsibilities:
Your training opportunities will include but are not limited to:
- Supporting small and mid-sized German companies with their U.S. market entry e.g. through Market Analysis
- Working closely with the management of our German business clients to support their strategic business development goals
- Organizing trade shows & (virtual) business trips including onsite support for German companies
- Conducting industry specific market research
- Performing cold-calling associated with business partner connection
- Planning, implementation, and post follow-up of inbound and outbound delegations, conferences, and roundtables, including acquisition of experts, VIPs, participants, and onsite support for German participants
- Contributing directly to the development and expansion of the market position of our Consulting Services team
- Assisting and coordinating marketing activities internally and with external vendors
- Other administrative responsibilities relevant to project management and event management
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's (or equivalent) or higher degree in business, economics, or related field
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Understanding of prioritization and efficient allocation of time and resources
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- High comfort level interacting with clients
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based and international (virtual) environment
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to grasp complicated subjects quickly
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications
- Working knowledge of German language
- HTML, Photoshop, graphic design proficiency is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- International experience (studies abroad, travel, etc.)
- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Experience in one of the key industries, e.g. Aerospace, Automotive, Logistics, Medical Field, (Technical) Textiles, Renewable Energy
