About the Job
- Manage the full sales cycle for new consulting clients and opportunities including:
- Responding to inbound leads and marketing qualified leads (MQLs)
- Prospecting for new leads and creating outbound opportunities
- Scheduling and completing discovery meetings with team members and prospects to identify their needs and provide overviews of relevant consulting service
- Preparing and delivering proposals
- Following up on opportunities to close in a timely manner
- Document all sales activity in the NetSuite CRM System
- Effectively manage opportunities and maintain an accurate pipeline
- Coordinate with the Consulting Operations Manager to assure projects are scheduled
- Meet and exceed monthly and annual Consulting budget requirements and individual quotas for new client business
- Collaborate with the Consulting Business Development Representative to meet client needs and revenue objectives
- Coordinate with Senior Account Executives and Account Managers to promote sales of Consulting services and collaborate on joint opportunities
- Participate in frequent meetings with the Marketing team to collaborate on lead generating campaigns, marketing collateral, and review performance of MQLs
- Complete monthly reports and provide information as needed for Leadership Meetings
- Coordinate and promote training courses including PCQI, HACCP courses and other training topics
- Attend trade show meetings to participate in or exhibit in booth representation
- Develop and nurture relationships with mutually beneficial business partners
- Travel to meet prospects and new clients as needed to expand the client base and identify new opportunities. Travel up to 25% of the time as needed for prospect, client and trade show meetings.
- Contribute to identification of new services to expand Consulting offerings or products
- Promote cross selling and upselling of Consulting Services for Food Safety, EHS and THRO services
- Coordinate with the Director of Consulting on sales forecast and Consulting reports needed
- Interact with the Director of Consulting to develop and execute the Consulting strategic plan to meet the defined objectives for Consulting
- Participate in routine Consulting Team meetings and strategy sessions
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Consulting
What it takes to be successful in this role:
- 5+ years of business-to-business sales or business development experience
- Experience selling professional services
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance with FDA,USDA, EPA, and OSHA regulations is helpful
- Knowledge of GFSI Certification Programs such as SQF, BRC and/or FSSC 22000 Certifications is helpful
- Knowledge of ISO Standards such as 9001, 14001, and 45001 is helpful
- Knowledge of or experience using Alchemy's training solutions is helpful
- Educational background in sales/marketing, management, food science or food related degree is a plus
- Moderate proficiency with NetSuite or other CRM tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and rapport with clients
- Ability to travel up to 25% to meet with clients or prospects and participate in trade shows
