The Mass General Brigham Strategy and Business Development departments focus on strategic planning, new business creation, partnerships and business development initiatives across the entire Mass General Brigham healthcare system. This high impact, high visibility role works closely with senior consultants and senior associates on the team in addition to department, hospital and system leadership on projects that will frequently be presented to Executives and the board of directors. In addition to supporting the development of the plans for new business opportunities and partnerships, this role will work closely with broad multi-functional teams on supporting the implementation. These cross-system projects require strong analytical, complex problem solving, project management and relationship (internal and external) management skills. This opportunity is action oriented and is a blend of both internal strategic planning and analysis along with externally focused activities. It will be important for the person in this role be able to accomplish tasks through and with others, including peers, various hospital and MGB leaders, and external collaborators.
Key team capabilities include problem solving and creative thinking, data analysis, financial analysis and modeling, market assessments and competitive intelligence using primary and secondary research, and facilitation skills. The team is also strong in project management to steer complex projects, often multiple at a time, from start to finish, while closely collaborating with a variety of stakeholders across the system.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct necessary due diligence and data analysis for potential new business opportunities and partnerships
With guidance, develop business plans for identified opportunities and initiatives including P&L, margin and risk assessment
Create financial models to assess the impact of opportunities and initiatives on the whole system and its member institutions
Conduct opportunity sizing assessments for new businesses (Past examples include: Home Based Care and Global Patient Services)
Perform and glean salient insights from market and patient data to inform medium to long-term planning
With guidance from team lead, produce polished, visually effective, C-suite-ready deliverables
Support the stand up and execution of new businesses and partnerships working with clinical and functional leaders
Manage one’s own work tasks and manage up to lead when appropriate; project manage smaller projects with clear workplans and timelines and support PMs on complex projects requiring multiple resources and stakeholders for successful completion
Communicate complex data and financial analysis effectively to senior leaders, including clinical audiences
Leverage strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaborate with others, while also providing direction and guidance to peers as needed
Communicate proactively issues/challenges and recommend options for resolution
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree, MBA or MPH preferred.
- 3 years in consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, corporate development or another related field
- Prior healthcare experience a plus

- Advanced skills in visualization, Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, Tableau, or similar programs
