Marsh McLennan Agency – Northwest Region is looking for a motivated and experienced Construction and Surety Specialty Practice Leader to join our team. As a vital member of our Business Insurance leadership team, the Construction and Surety Practice Leader will collaborate with our Managing Director of Specialty Practices to lead and grow our construction and surety practices, developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and managing the overall initiatives of the practice. We’re looking for an innovative leader who’s passionate about identifying opportunities to do things better and inspiring our colleagues to strive for excellence and stay ahead of the competition. Business Insurance is a critical component to our business and the Construction and Surety Practice Leader will be a key contributor, driving continuous profitable growth and responding with agility to changing objectives and industry trends.

What You'll Be Doing:- Lead and grow the Construction and Surety Practices including developing and monitoring business plans to achieve sales and revenue growth objectives.
- Work collaboratively with the Business Insurance leadership team to set the mission and vision of the Construction and Surety Specialty Practices to align with the MMA culture and ensure its integration with the overall business plan and operational initiatives.
- Recruit, develop and lead a team of highly talented and efficient construction and surety sales professionals.
- Consistently hold your assigned producers accountable to maintaining an active pipeline for the region, and consistently help move top prospects to clients.
- Ensure implementation of strong retention strategies on our region’s top accounts.
- Proactively drive the region’s top producers to move prospects to clients by getting out in the field and helping them secure new business.
- Regularly coach and train our sales process to producers.
- Develop and maintain positive carrier and vendor relationships to meet client and agency goals and objectives, including maximizing carrier resources, offering and compensation, and cultivating new market opportunities.
- Promote operational excellence by collaborating with commercial lines leadership to develop, expand and implement solutions.
- Actively participate as a leader in company initiatives and support our core values; including but not limited to driving and promoting community involvement of others.
- You’re a leading professional in the Construction and Surety industry. An insurance and surety background is strongly preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate would have a passion and deep understanding for all things related to managing risk. You’re a skilled leader and developer of insurance and surety professionals, and also have a track record of success.
- You’ve got the experience.Ideally, you have personally produced, you consistently met company goals and were or are in an insurance and surety-related leadership role with strong references. Our ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree or higher in business or a related field and boasts 10 years of experience in insurance and surety that includes proven success in leadership and/or mentorship.
- You’re strategic yet influential. You can communicate a compelling vision for the commercial insurance and surety department—a vision that is believable and encourages others to buy-in and follow.
- Team oriented. You maintain positive relationships with your colleagues—and you enjoy it. You inspire and motivate people by promoting an atmosphere of teamwork, collaboration and shared successes.

- Travel is not an issue for you. This position involves traveling to meet with colleagues and with prospects and clients. Travel will also be required for company meetings.

The Perks:
We take pride in providing our colleagues with a competitive compensation package; we will honor all local and state salary thresholds. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. The salary range for this position is $105,900-$197,700/year. Additionally, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives, annual profit sharing and a benefits package that includes paid paternity/maternity leave, medical leave, 401K savings and other wellbeing programs. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
