Position Summary
The Landscape Construction Superintendent will lead and manage the on-site team and oversee all work on site. They will be responsible for orderliness on-site and ensure compliance with safety regulations. The Superintendent will ensure quality standards are met, and all equipment and materials are always available on-site along with scheduling all inspection authorities for needed inspections. Must be knowledgeable in all facets of landscape construction but not limited to grading, hardscapes, planting, and irrigation
Responsibilities
· Managing the activities of subcontractors, vendors and labor, maintaining close control over the accuracy and quality of each work activity.
· Schedules and directs all inspections with city officials, government agencies and private agencies as required.
· Documents and complete all punch list items.
· Understanding and implementation of contract specifications and drawings.
· Understand and enforce all safety rules and regulations.
· Manage all subcontractor relationships.
· Coordinate the development of Daily, Weekly and Project level work plans and objectives with the Project Manager.
· Schedule and direct meetings and coordinate with Owners and Designers.
· Ensure that goals and timelines are set and met throughout the project’s time frame and within the project budget.
· Maintain relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors and clients.
· Supervise project foremen, and crews.
· Work with municipalities to ensure project meets code and all permits are obtained where needed.
· Provide Safety Training and Toolbox talks.
· Maintain and update accurate redline drawings on site.
· Approve all timecards daily.
· Train production crews in landscape installation including but not limited to hardscapes, retaining walls, planting, low voltage lighting, irrigation construction conventional and two wire.
· Irrigation design build – Must have extensive knowledge in irrigation design and install.
Physical Job Requirements
· Frequent standing for extended periods, walking frequently and sitting occasionally.
· Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to recognize and identify products both near and from a distance,
· Able to extensively handle and move materials and perform physical activities – using hands, arms, legs in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
· Must be able to work at the computer or desk area for extended periods of time.
· You must be able to use a computer and see color and differentiate between products.
· Ability to work extended hours and in inclement weather.
