We are seeking a dedicated Construction Superintendent to lead and manage construction projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will oversee project tasks, conduct quality inspections, and supervise staff and subcontractors. The role will involve monitoring construction projects throughout their entire lifecycle, including budgeting for supplies, equipment, and labor. Additionally, the Superintendent will play a crucial role in ensuring that all safety, quality, and health standards are met. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Construction Manager (CM) to organize subcontractor schedules.
- Enforce adherence to quality standards.
- Oversee the completion of work purchase orders (POs).
- Conduct daily pre and post-work walkthroughs with all trades.
- Manage scheduling software checklists.
- Perform daily walkthroughs of every room and house.
- Fulfill assigned tasks from the Construction Manager & AM.
- Continuously inspect houses during construction.
- Coordinate inspections and accompany inspectors as necessary.
- Ensure that all trade work meets quality standards through thorough inspections.
- Unlock homes in the morning and secure them in the evening.
- Uphold a clean and safe community environment.
- Monitor trade partners' compliance with site rules.
- Set an example for trades by embodying and upholding our culture and values.
- Confirm completion of houses without any outstanding items before final sign-off.
- Conduct homeowner orientation to ensure their satisfaction.
- Inspect each house to assess its status according to the production schedule.
- Guarantee the quality of workmanship and compliance with plans and specifications.
- Ensure all schedules are met in the absence of the Construction Manager.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency is required. A Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Must have +3 years of relevant construction experience. At least 1 year of residential construction experience.
- Tech-savvy and able to learn new software.
- Must possess the ability to read and interpret blueprint plans.
- Ability to form and maintain effective relationships with co-workers and customers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to crawl in tight spaces or climb ladders.
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to multi-task, troubleshoot, and problem-solve effectively.
- Must possess a Valid State of Texas drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Must be fluent in English.
- Ability to pass a background check and a drug test.
