Day to day as a Construction Superintendent / Project Manager

As a Full-Time Construction Superintendent / Project Manager at JL Construction Corp, you will play a vital role in monitoring daily operations of construction projects, ensuring strict adherence to budgeting, timelines, and health/safety compliance. This position requires you to collaborate closely with the construction foreman and supervisor to coordinate daily job site schedules while overseeing on-site crews. Your strong communication skills will be essential as you work directly with our office-based project estimator and manager to streamline project execution and address any challenges that arise. Your leadership and attention to detail will help drive the success of each project, ensuring we consistently meet our high standards of excellence.

Qualifications?

To thrive as a Full-Time Construction Superintendent / Project Manager at JL Construction Corp, you must possess a strong foundation in construction engineering management, civil engineering, or a related field, backed by at least 3 years of relevant experience in excavation and horizontal construction. Proficiency in interpreting bid documents, plans, and other related project documentation is essential. A comprehensive understanding of local quality, safety, and health regulations for construction sites in Massachusetts and Connecticut is required.

Additionally, familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite and a readiness to quickly learn industry-specific software will greatly enhance your effectiveness in this role. Strong organizational and communication skills are critical for coordinating with job site crews and managing project details. A willingness to travel locally for job sites and meetings will further support your success in delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• Degree in Construction Engineering Management/ Civil Engineering or a related Engineering Field
• 3+years of relevant experience in the field of excavation/horizontal construction
• Ability to interpret bid documents, plans and all other related project/construction documents
• Knowledge of local quality, safety and health regulations for construction job sites (MA/ CT)
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn industry-specific software programs quickly
• Must possess exceptional organizational and communication skills
• Willingness to travel locally to various job sites/ meetings as needed
