Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage our construction projects in the Detroit area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, with the ability to lead teams and ensure timely project completion within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation
- Manage on-site personnel and maintain communication with owners throughout the entire process
- Ensure all safety expectations are met and thoroughly executed
- Manage labor disputes, staffing, construction materials, equipment, and subcontractor administration
- Develop strong relationships with project managers, subcontractors, and assistant project managers
- Maintain appropriate documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management preferred
- 5-10 years of experience in construction, with a focus on project management
- Experience in commercial construction, including TI and ground-up projects
- Working knowledge of skilled trades including carpentry, masonry, concrete work, site excavation, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical
- Proficiency in reviewing and understanding construction documents, specifications, and drawings
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- MDOT experience (underground utilities) is a plus
- Experience with self-perform dirt-work is beneficial
