Salary $138,000 to $142,000 per year as a full-time employee, plus full company benefits, including 10 paid vacation days, 11 paid holidays, and 5 paid sick days.

Position Overview:
The successful candidate for this position will be assigned to the LAUSD Facilities Program
Position Functions:
- Coordinate various aspects of project delivery and lead the administration of construction projects including planning, design, budget maintenance, scheduling, labor compliance and completing close-out activities.
- Schedule, document and track project planning and engineering activities with Project Managers, contractors, field staff and other stakeholders.
- Read, interpret and evaluate architectural and engineering plans and proposals and provide contracting strategies and execution, and coordinate award forms and documentation.
- Review and respond to Requests for Clarifications (RFC), Change Order Proposals (COP) and Change Directives (CD) for quality assurance and merit.
- Prepare cost estimates and assist in negotiating a fair and reasonable cost for change orders submitted by contractors.
- Review and monitor applications for payment and ensure projects are delivered within approved timelines. Perform site walks to verify field conditions and develop progress or status reports.
- Review contractor baseline schedules, including analysis of critical path and recovery schedules.
- Review Constructability Reviews and ensure compliance with District standards, Division of State Architect (DSA) guidelines and building code requirements.
- Maintain project files and logs that include correspondence, contractor invoices and progress statements, change orders as well as claims, timesheets and extra services.
- Coordinate progress meetings with contractors, project managers and field staff. Prepare agendas, records, and meeting minutes and follow up on action items.
- Act as support staff in the collection of contract data and documentation to resolve changes and claims.
- Assist in project close-out activities and acquisition of technical documents, project records, including as-builts, drawings, test records and maintenance of manuals.
- Lead efforts in performing tests required to ensure material compliance with plans and specifications.
- Perform other duties as directed by Senior Project Managers / OARs or Project Engineers.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Required Experience:
Eight (8) years full time paid professional experience in Construction and/or a combination of
Project and Construction Management of Commercial and/or Public / Educational Facility
Construction. Involvement coordinating projects with construction values in excess of $15M.
Additional Preferred Experience:
- Design Build Experience
- Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Experience with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects and/or
the Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS)
- Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes
Required Education: There are 2 ways to meet the education requirement:
Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Architecture,
Engineering, or Construction Management
OR
High School Graduate with 12 years experience.
