Construction Risk Analyst
Vaco is Conducting a Confidential Search for a Risk Management Professional
Contract Length: 3 months (with potential for extension or conversion)
Pay Rate: $29/hour (W2)
Vaco has been engaged by a leading organization to identify an experienced professional for a Risk Management Specialist role. This full-time, office-based opportunity involves overseeing and placing insurance programs across diverse construction-related activities, including land development, vertical construction, and multi-family housing. Our client details will be shared with shortlisted candidates.
This opportunity offers the chance to work within a dynamic industry, playing a key role in ensuring effective insurance placement, risk transfer, and compliance. Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement insurance programs tailored to various construction projects, including single-family, multi-family, and commercial construction activities.
- Evaluate and place project-specific insurance policies, including builder’s risk, general liability, and environmental policies.
- Develop and maintain master insurance programs for multi-family and commercial construction projects.
- Conduct detailed reviews of contracts and operating agreements to ensure compliance with insurance requirements and evaluate alternative options.
- Coordinate underwriting data from internal business teams to facilitate timely and accurate policy placements.
- Track and manage insurance program renewals and assist with claim handling, including analyzing insurer loss runs.
- Oversee subcontractor insurance compliance and associated risk transfer processes.
- Support the allocation of insurance costs to relevant business units and maintain compliance tracking systems.
- Provide assistance in closing deals by assessing insurance needs and ensuring proper follow-up.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, with a focus on the homebuilding or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction-related insurance programs, including builder’s risk, general liability, environmental, and property coverage.
- Familiarity with insurance compliance tracking systems and contract review processes.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; however, equivalent experience will be considered.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; technical tools beyond standard office software are not required.
- Ability to work full-time on-site and be available during emergencies, including weekends if necessary.
- Construction industry experience is highly desirable.
Additional Details
This position is structured as a 3-month contract, with the potential for extension or conversion to a permanent role based on performance and organizational needs.
