A highly respected General Contractor is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Control Manager to oversee and ensure the quality standards of their projects involving Veterans Affairs (VA) Hospitals and other federal facilities. This is a pivotal role in managing quality assurance processes for construction and renovation projects within a federal context. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working on federal projects and possess a strong background in quality control management within the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality control plans for federal projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and government regulations.
- Supervise and mentor quality control inspectors and teams to maintain high standards of work on site.
- Oversee daily inspections and testing procedures for construction projects, focusing on adherence to specifications, codes, and safety protocols.
- Ensure that all subcontractors and vendors comply with quality control standards set by the company and the government.
- Conduct regular audits and evaluations of project workflows and deliverables to identify areas of improvement.
- Liaise with project managers, contractors, and government representatives to address quality-related concerns.
- Maintain thorough documentation of quality control processes and inspection results for federal records and reporting.
- Review and approve material and equipment submissions to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Ensure that any non-conformance issues are identified, documented, and corrected in a timely manner.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality control processes for future projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Federal Project Experience: Extensive experience working on federal construction projects, specifically Veterans Affairs (VA) Hospitals or similar facilities. Ability to travel
- Experience in Quality Control Management: Proven track record in managing quality control processes in construction and/or renovation projects.
- Knowledge of Regulations: Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to assess and evaluate quality standards with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders, team members, and clients.
- Education: Degree in Construction or related field
- Proficiency in Software: Familiarity with construction management software, inspection tools, and project management systems.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required by the project.
