Construction Project Manager - Swoon

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Senior Project Manager, Construction & Development, you’ll play a key role in managing data center construction projects with a strong emphasis on MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems. From planning and permitting to budgeting, contract negotiations, and execution, you’ll ensure seamless project delivery while maintaining cost controls and quality standards.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Oversee the planning, permitting, and execution of major data center projects
• Develop RFPs for General Contractors and collaborate with Procurement
• Lead capital planning presentations for Director-level review
• Negotiate contracts with Architects, Engineers, and General Contractors
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and weekly progress reports
• Coordinate with utility providers and lead OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meetings
• Implement recycling programs to enhance sustainability during construction
• Oversee the documentation lifecycle of design-build projects
• Work closely with the Senior Data Center Construction Manager on technical, contractual, and procurement matters
• Lead weekly project status meetings and ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery

WHAT YOU BRING:

• 7+ years of experience in data center development, general construction, and MEP systems
• Deep understanding of large real estate developments
• Proven leadership experience (4+ years leading teams)
• Expertise in general contracting, project accounting & procurement, construction/project management
• Strong background in data center construction and critical facility infrastructure
• Ability to troubleshoot, enforce schedules, and maintain project quality
• Experience managing multiple high-value projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project (2003+), and project management tools
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across all levels of the organization
