About the Job
We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Construction Project Manager to join our team on-site for a client based in the Long Beach, CA region.
Position Details:
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (on-site)
- Salary Range: $170,000 to $200,000
- Level: Senior
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated senior-level project leadership
- 20 years of experience in public works projects
- Proficiency in Design-Build and/or Progressive Design-Build methodologies
- Preferred experience in institutional or higher education projects, with CSU experience being advantageous
- Ability to oversee and lead design and construction teams
Responsibilities:
- Manage the Design and Construction process
- Lead project collaboration efforts from initial planning to closeout, ensuring effective leadership throughout the project lifecycle
- Prepare, manage, and support documentation required for post-performance reviews, audits, or inspections
- Monitor contract budgets, reconcile contracts, and report on monthly cash flow activities
- Guide design decisions to maintain project scope within approved budgets, coordinating the value engineering process
- Prepare schematic, preliminary, and construction document submittals for review
- Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for committee meetings and executive-level presentations
- Procure required plan reviews prior to bidding, ensuring compliance with regulations and authorities having jurisdiction
Requirements:
- Minimum five years of proven working experience in construction management
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods
- Expertise in building products, construction details, and relevant regulations and quality standards
- Familiarity with construction management software
- Experience in education-building infrastructure and DSA codes and procedures
- Leadership, human resources management, time management, and project management skills
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
