AppleOne is working with one of Florida's most recognized and premier commercial builders, with annual revenues exceeding $150 million. This company has been in business since 1968 and specializes in the construction of public facilities, including schools, public safety buildings, municipal projects, and private/commercial developments.
We are currently seeking a talented Project Manager to join their Miami-Fort Lauderdale, South Florida team. The Project Manager will have bottom-line responsibility and accountability for the financial and technical success of the assigned project(s). The Project Manager is responsible for overall project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting, and control, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards. This role oversees the project from beginning to end, including pre-construction, budget, costs, schedule, risk management, insurance, general performance and quality, and overall progress against the plan.
What you’ll do:
- Play a key role in project planning, budgeting, and identifying the resources needed.
- Create teams, develop the objectives/goals for each team, and assign individual responsibilities.
- Manage accounting functions, including managing the budget, tracking expenses, and minimizing exposure and risk.
- Ensure that construction activities proceed according to the pre-determined schedule.
- Develop project work plans and revise them as needed.
- Coordinate efforts of all parties involved in the project, including architects, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and laborers.
- Monitor construction progress regularly and hold status meetings with the owner and subcontractors.
- Maintain strict adherence to budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards.
- Ensure project documentation is complete.
- Identify project design and construction elements that may give rise to disputes and claims.
- Serve as a key liaison with clients and review the team's deliverables before passing them onto the client.
- Lead and communicate with all team members, subcontractors, and vendors to help maintain the project schedule.
- Proactively communicate any issues and provide solutions in the best interest of Pirtle.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7-8 years of experience in construction projects.
- Knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to efficiently lead and manage a team.
- Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office, Primavera, and construction management software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a strong command of all applicable legal provisions.
- Ability to multitask and handle competing priorities effectively.
